Brad Lloyd

The artist

Born in Patagonia and based in Melbourne, Brad Lloyd Jones is a portrait photographer whose work leans toward a Seinen-inspired aesthetic—a style rooted in mature, psychological storytelling and dark, cinematic undertones—leaving a distinct imprint throughout his portfolio.

His work is defined by a deliberate pursuit of colors and textures that evoke analog qualities, paired with ambient lighting and post-production techniques that infuse many pieces with surrealism.

Frequently asked questions

My practice centres on editorial, fashion, and artistic photography with a strong cinematic and authorial signature. I pursue images that tell stories, explore deep visual concepts, and carry a distinctive atmosphere. Beyond portfolio sessions and personal books, I create visual content for brands and provide cinematic/documentary coverage of events — runway shows, art exhibitions, and creative launches.
Absolutely. The most powerful work is born from collective synergy. I know how to operate within dynamic sets, aligning technical and artistic vision across disciplines. I'm always open to collaborating with designers, fashion stylists, art directors, MUAs, hair stylists, and models. If you have a strong conceptual proposal or an assembled team, reach out through the booking form above.
Planning an artistic session requires pre-production time, calendar reservations, and often team coordination. Changes to confirmed dates are governed by the following retention schedule:
  • More than 1 month in advance — Reschedule or cancel with no penalty.
  • Between 1 month and 7 days before — 20% of the total project budget.
  • Between 6 days and 48 hours before — 40% of the total project budget.
  • Less than 48 hours or same day — 60% of the total project budget.
Weather note: If the session is outdoors and conditions prevent the shoot, it will be rescheduled by mutual agreement with no penalty.
As the author, I retain the intellectual property rights and authorship of all images.
  • Books / Personal Projects: Personal use licence for social media, portfolios, and websites — always with proper credit. Resale or broad commercial use requires prior written authorisation.
  • Commercial / Editorial Projects: Usage terms, exclusivity, and distribution are defined in a rights transfer agreement tailored to each project.
No, and this is non-negotiable. Digital development and retouching are half of my artistic signature and the conceptual value I deliver. All selected images are delivered fully edited and in high resolution.
I deeply respect the privacy of those who trust my lens. If for reasons of confidentiality, agency contracts, or personal preference you'd prefer certain photos not to be published on my social media or portfolio, we agree on this in writing before the session — and it will be honoured absolutely.
Delivery time varies depending on technical complexity, project scale, and the volume of material to process — with an estimated minimum of 2 weeks. Digital development and fine retouching require dedicated time to meet the artistic quality standard I pursue. If you need urgent delivery, we can discuss the project's feasibility and reach an additional agreement to prioritise production timelines.
The process varies by project type:
  • Authorial / Editorial: I carry out the curation and final selection, prioritising images that best narrate the story and reinforce the agreed aesthetic concept.
  • Books & Personal Sessions: I make a technical pre-selection of the best takes, then share a private gallery so you can choose your favourites within your contracted package.
Each selected image undergoes a meticulous process of digital development — colorimetry, contrast, lighting — to achieve the cinematic atmosphere that defines my portfolio. Retouching focuses on enhancing the scene's aesthetic and removing distracting elements. My aesthetic and ethical values lean strongly toward preserving authenticity, respecting the organic identity of the subjects represented.
Yes — absolutely. Based in Melbourne, I'm fully available to travel for projects both interstate across Australia and internationally. Whether it's a remote location, a different city, or another country entirely, I'm open to it. Travel and accommodation costs are factored into the project budget and discussed transparently during the planning stage. If you have a project in mind that requires travel, don't hesitate to get in touch.
